Mieko Sie is a licensed acupuncturist, Chinese Medicine herbalist, and a therapeutic massage therapist with a practice located in Solana Beach, California. Mieko is licensed by the California State Board of Acupuncture. Also, as a professional massage therapist, she is nationally certified by National Certification Board of Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork and by American Massage Therapy Association.
Mieko holds a Master of Science degree in Traditional Oriental Medicine earned from Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in San Diego, California. Her base training of over 3,500 hours at Pacific College includes extensive training in Traditional Chinese Medicine theory/acupuncture, orthopedic style acupuncture, Chinese herbal medicine, moxibustion therapy, and Tui-Na. She is, also, knowledgeable in Eastern nutrition. Mieko served on various Internships/Externships with highly regarded Acupuncturists from China and the U.S. Her rotations include integrative medical setting such as the Pacific Beach Free Clinic in San Diego, UCSD Free Clinic Project in Downtown San Diego, and the San Diego Hospice for Palliative Care.
She also has advanced training in various massage modalities including thai, shiatsu, reflexology, and pregnancy massage. Her most requested work is deep tissue sports massage. This type of massage is excellent and beneficial for athletes and others who require more mechanically structural work and has some dramatic results.
Her massage treatments are drawn from both Eastern and Western techniques to create a harmonious blend of bodywork. These treatments aim to recondition the body, rehabilitate injury and promote relaxation while increasing mental alertness. Continued treatments can enhance body awareness and healthy function of the body systems.
Her comprehensive services include complete health assessments, acupuncture, Chinese herbal medicine (optional), Eastern nutrition food therapy, and customized massage therapy.
In addition to her training in Eastern and Western medicine, Mieko has a Bachelors Degree in Communicative Disorders from San Diego State University in San Diego, California.
Mieko believes in continuous education. She is currently pursuing a certification in Classical Five-Element Acupuncture at the Institute of Classical Five-Element Acupuncture in Santa Monica, California.
